I can’t remember when I knew I
wanted to become a teacher. I was never a child who wanted to play house, I only wanted to play school. Since my first day
of school, when I started going home and teaching my younger brother what I learned in school, without knowing it, I knew
what I wanted to be when I grew up. Everything I have done in my life, coaching children since I was old enough, organizing
as many events as I could, being involved in school, and working with kids at a summer camp, has brought me to where I am
today. Even though I can’t remember when I realised I wanted to be a teacher, I do know why I want to be. It is what
makes me feel whole. I cannot imagine doing anything else in my life. By being accepted into a position to teach English overseas
I was able to fulfil more than one goal at a time. For years I have also been working towards the possibility of broadening
my experiences by working as a teacher in another culture.

Career Objectives
At the end of December 2005, I became a fully certified teacher in Maine through
the University of Maine at Presque Isle. I have a History Degree from Acadia University, which I received in May 2004. I feel
this is one of the most opportune times of my entire life. I have so much passion for the things I strive to achieve and teaching
is the thing I have the most passion for.
Even though I am Canadian, and grew up in Nova Scotia,
I am currently working as an English Teacher in South Korea. Though I am having a wonderful time here, the teaching part is
lacking what I really aspire to gain from my teaching. I desire the connection between myself and the students, and I need
to see the development of the students over time, which is not something I get to see here. Experiencing the same students,
without a language barrier, for a year at a time is what I really need to be doing.
